MT. CRAWFORD, VA.- Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates’ August Variety auction contains a true diversity of material and will include everything from jewelry to Black Americana; local pottery to phonographs; Victorian glass to country store and advertising , all to be sold on August 29, 2015.

The auction includes material from the collections of the late Carlton Rinaca of Shenandoah, VA, selections from the Orlean R. Holsinger estate of Staunton, VA, and the Vondrea Fansler collection of Basye, VA, as well as consignments from many different points on the map of America.

The auction features country store and advertising material; six good Shenandoah Valley mill stones of various sizes; a stand-up mill desk in original blue-painted surface from the Rinkerton Mill in Shenandoah Co., VA; two Shenandoah Valley pie safes; a collection of Emanuel Suter, Rockingham Co. pottery, including an earthenware jug-form bank signed “Mary Suter” in pencil under the base, a signed earthenware canner and ¼-gallon crock, and a signed (three-line mark) stoneware two-gallon jar; local items including Bear and Elk Lithia water bottles; ironware including an Indian warning bell and jockey hitching post; vintage Christmas ornaments, toys and dolls; an Edison cylinder phonograph with horn and cylinders; 75+ pieces of blue & white salt-glaze kitchenware; 20+ pieces of spongeware; Rockingham and yellow-ware; a collection of Rosenthal “Delft” china; other ceramics including majolica and American art pottery; kerosene lighting including 30+ opalescent stand and finger lamps, other stand and finger lamps, 50+ miniature lamps, &c.; Burmese wall-mount fairy lamps with mirror and a double fairy lamp with vases; Victorian glass including 65 sugar shakers, syrup pitchers, S&P shakers, &c.; EAPG including animal patterns; Carnival glass; large lot of sterling silver; fine estate jewelry including a 1.18 carat diamond solitaire pendant, diamond rings, gold charm and other bracelets, gold chains, pearls, &c.; plus more.
