NEW YORK, NY.- Leading international auction house Bonhams has appointed Ms. Kristin Guiter to the position of Head of Press and Public Relations U.S., effective immediately.

Guiter brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, branding and media relations in-house at international institutions and as a consultant to a diverse portfolio of arts and culture clients. She will be based in New York, reporting to Lucinda Bredin, Global Director of Communications, in the company’s London headquarters.

Prior to joining Bonhams, Guiter served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C. and, most recently, as the Founder and Principal at kkg arts + culture communications, where she worked with galleries and arts organizations such as the National Gallery of Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts and the American Alliance of Museums (AAM).

During her time at the Corcoran, Guiter led unprecedented publicity campaigns around the museum’s exhibitions, ranging from historic American paintings to contemporary and modern art, public education programs and scholarship, in addition to marketing the college graduate and undergraduate degrees. Prior to the Corcoran, Guiter spent several years managing media relations at The Field Museum in Chicago, where she spearheaded international press for museum enterprises and touring exhibitions, including blockbuster shows such as King Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs.

Guiter has also served on committees with a number of arts organizations, including the Smithsonian’s Arthur M. Sackler and Freer Gallery of Art, The Washington Ballet and Destination DC. She is on the PR and Marketing Board of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and has written on culture for publications in Washington, D.C. and New York.
