BERLIN.- To start off its upcoming series of art auctions, the leading online auction house Auctionata presents three auctions dedicated to the great masters of Modern and Pop Art on October 29 and 30. From Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalì, over to Andy Warhol, Alex Katz, and Damien Hirst, the auctions feature the most iconic artists of the 20th century. Overall, more than 220 artworks for young and experienced collectors will go under the hammer. The auctions will be broadcasted via livestream and are accessible to bidders worldwide via www.auctionata.com or via the Auctionata Live iPhone App.

The first auction ‘Picasso, Miro, Chagall & Dali’ on October 29 will begin with 85 drawings, etchings, lithographs, portfolios and other artworks from four of the most influential artists of the 20th century. One of the highlights is a set of twelve etchings from Joan Miró from 1981. The offered lot contains the maquettes for the 12 color etchings of the portfolio ‘Lapidari’, for which Miró illustrated texts written by anonymous Catalan authors of the 15th century. The plates are offered for a starting price of €65,000. Also of note is Picasso’s linocut ‘Bacchanal au Taureau Noir’ from 1959, which will be called for a starting price of €30,000. Moreover, numerous affordable artworks by and after Salvador Dalí and Marc Chagall will go under the hammer.

On October 30, the auction ‘Pop Art’ will present a colorful mix of artworks from international representatives of Post-War, Pop and Contemporary Art. Many of the 64 offered works feature iconic motifs, such as Robert Indiana’s ‘Love’, Damien Hirst’s sculls, and Mel Ramos’ blonde pin-up girls. Moreover, the etching ‘Oleoylsarcosine‘ (2008) from Hirst’s series of ‘Spot Paintings’ will go under the hammer with a starting price of €9,000.

The subsequent auction ‘Warhol Only’ is exclusively dedicated to Andy Warhol. Particularly noteworthy are the graphite drawing ‘Bouquet of Flowers’ from 1974 and various graphic works from Warhol’s early years as an illustrator. Moreover, the auction will present a large range of works with iconic motifs after Warhol.
