NEW YORK, NY.- International art and design fair Spring Masters New York will return to the historic Park Avenue Armory from Friday, May 6 through Monday, May 9, 2016. The fair’s third edition will feature over 60 leading dealers of fine art, design, furniture and jewelry within a unique hexagonal exhibition layout, fostering a dialogue between the diverse periods, styles and mediums on view.

Since its inaugural edition in May 2014, Spring Masters has established itself as an important destination on the art world calendar, providing a high-quality fair focusing on connoisseurship and a rich breadth of material during the peak of the spring art season in New York. Fair exhibitors are curated, regardless of the period of art sold, to fit within the aesthetic lens of 21st Century collecting tastes. The fair has received praise from past visitors and exhibitors alike, including Bowman Sculpture (London), Osborne Samuel (London), Colnaghi (London), Galerie Boulakia (Paris) and Phoenix Ancient Art (New York).

Further adding to the diversity of the objects on offer, Spring Masters is welcoming two new exhibitors in 2016 with a strong background in presenting Asia-based artists to the Western world: Yufuku Gallery (Tokyo) and Sundaram Tagore (New York). The 2016 edition will feature a selection of exceptional works, from antique and modern tapestries presented by Vojtech Blau to 20th Century French Art and Design showcased by Galerie Lefebvre to European sculptures displayed by Tomasso Brothers Fine Art.

Directors Michael Plummer and Jeff Rabin of Artvest Partners bring their extensive experience in forecasting future art industry trends to the fair landscape. “In this increasingly dynamic and competitive art market, a collector’s time is limited and his/her attention fragmented. Thus one needs to create a fair that is constantly evolving and changing each year to surprise and delight this community of dedicated collectors. Every year Michael and I travel around the world to find new exhibitors to reach further towards meeting this high bar,” said Jeff Rabin, co-Director of Spring Masters.

The vibrant eclecticism of the range of periods on view is boldly offset by the incomparable use of the Park Avenue Armory Drill Hall through architect Rafael Viñoly’s design, creating vistas and juxtapositions unlike any other art fair in the world. The fair’s signature hexagonal booths remain the most dramatic change in the Park Avenue Armory’s fair format in three decades. The non-linear arrangement creates unexpected dialogues between painting, sculpture, and design objects, encouraging a sense of discovery and aligning with the collector’s preference of cross-collecting.
