NEW YORK, NY.- Eli Wilner & Company have framed Frederic E Church’s Coast Scene, Mount Desert (Sunrise off the Maine Coast), part of the Wadsworth Atheneum collection, which will be exhibited at this year’s edition of the Winter Antiques Show.

Each year, the Winter Antiques Show features a special loan exhibition celebrating the best of American art. This year's loan exhibition "Legacy for the Future: Wadsworth Museum of Art," will pay tribute to the diversity and forward-thinking vision of the museum’s collection. Highlights range from antiquities and Baroque masterworks to Hudson River School landscapes and contemporary sculpture.

Eli Wilner & Company has had the honor of framing many notable paintings for the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Founded in 1842, the museum is the oldest continually operating public art museum in the United States. Their wide ranging collection of nearly 50,000 works includes an unparalleled group of Hudson River School landscapes, including Frederic Church’s 1863 Coast Scene, Mount Desert (Sunrise off the Maine Coast).

Perhaps his finest seascape, this painting is based on an oil sketch done while the artist was observing the sea off Mt. Desert, Maine. Coast Scene, Mount Desert (Sunrise off the Maine Coast) will be featured as part of the Wadsworth Atheneum loan exhibition, displayed in a Wilner replica of an American 1860’s frame, carved and gilded. The exhibition will be on view during the run of the Winter Antiques Show, January 22-31, 2016 at the Park Avenue Armory in New York.

Eli Wilner & Company is the world's finest resource for antique American and European frames. As a specialist in period framing for nearly 40 years, Eli Wilner has completed 28 projects for the White House and over 15,000 framing projects for collectors and museums.
