Antik A.S. announces Modern and Contemporary Art Auction in Istanbul
Fahrel Nissa Zeid’s “The Reverse” a large double-sided canvas with 132 x 162 cm estimation 200,000 – 300,000 USD.



ISTANBUL.- The leading auction house of Turkey, Antik A.S. announces Modern and Contemporary Art Auction in Istanbul which will take place on Saturday 19 March 2016. The sale will offer an important selection of works of art from the 20th centuryTurkish Art including a masterpiece by Fahrel Nissa Zeid, impressive works of Erol Akyavas, Burhan Doğançay, Abidin Elderoğlu, Ferruh Başağa, Mübin Orhon, Adnan Çoker, Abdurahman Öztoprak, İlhan Koman, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Orhan Peker and Kemal Önsoy.

The auction will take place in Antik Palace and will present 200 exceptional modern & contemporary art. The leading highlight of the sale is Fahrel Nissa Zeid’s “The Reverse” a large double-sided canvas with 132 x 162 cm dimensions.. The work has an estimation of 200,000 – 300,000 USD and is expected to generate tremendous excitement for the collectors and museums. Many art critics and museum curators describe the work as one of the most important works of the artist.

The other highlight of sale is “Fallen City II” a monumental canvas by the artist Erol Akyavaş, oil on canvas, 130 x 270 cm work is dated 1982. And has an estimation of 200,000 – 300,000 USD.

Antik A.Ş. will also offer for sale paintings by the masters of Modern Turkish Art.. Burhan Doğançay’s “ribbons” Abidin Elderoğlu’s magnificent works, dated 1970.. Mehmet Güleryüz’s “Farmer” and “Open the door” canvases from 1993.. Kemal Önsoy’s important works including a masterpiece “The Sun!” Azade Koker, and Selma Gürbüz’s canvases, Abdurrahman Öztoprak, Güngör Taner, Avni Arbaş, Orhan Peker, Komet, Ergin Inan, Mustafa Ata, Nuri İyem works will also be offered in the sale. Ilhan Koman’s Iron work from the “Stockholm” series will also be offered in the sale..

Olgac Artam, auctioneer of the sale, said “the sale is giving an opportunity to own extraordinary masterpieces of important Turkish artists” Artam predicts that these works will make a great positive impact on the market. Artam says “Fahrel Nissa Zeid and Erol Akyavaş works are definitely amazing masterpieces of the artists and expected to fetch remarkable prices..”

The auction which will be held at main building of Antik A.S. March 19, 2016. Presenting a very important selection in the field of Modern and Contemporary Turkish Art, featuring works by artists who were great masters in their periods. A special catalogue has been prepared for the collection that will be on displayed at the Antik A.S
