LONDON.- BADA (The British Antique Dealers’ Association) takes its first step into the live online Auction market this week with the launch of the first ever BADA Auctions at 3.00pm GMT (10am EST) on Thursday 14 July.

The Association, which represents the UK’s leading fine art and antiques dealers has partnered with art market specialists The Curators Eye to create the www.bada.auction platform, which will host Thursday’s inaugural BADA Auction.

The auction brings together 400 exceptional pieces from over 40 of BADA’s finest dealers including silverware, jewellery, fine art, folk art, sculpture, design, clocks and timepieces, rugs and carpets, Chinese export porcelain, Asian Art and British and European furniture.

In contrast to leading auction houses, BADA have taken a revolutionary new approach to online Auctions, allowing buyers and collectors to bid without paying buyers premiums, as well as sparing participating dealers the expense of cataloguing costs and buy-in-fees. Buyers will also be protected by BADA’s by-laws and consumer legislation.

In addition to the www.bada.auction platform, BADA have teamed up with industry leading online auction platforms LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable.

The Auction will take place live from the Algonquin Club in Boston, Massachusetts and will be conducted live by auctioneers Silke Berlinghof-Nielsen and Peter Combs. Bidders and collectors can watch the action unfold live from 3.00pm on www.bada.auction

BADA CEO Marco Forgione said: “BADA Auctions offer our members a magnificent opportunity to showcase their exceptional objects of art and antiques to a global audience of buyers and collectors.

“We are helping our members expand in to new markets and make new clients. There is a global audience of buyers and collectors who enjoy buying at auction and now will be able to find the finest objects, free from Buyers’ Premiums, backed by BADA’s code of practice and registered with Certificates of BADA Provenance.

“BADA Auctions focus is on creating a better, safe buying experience.”
