LONDON.- Timothy Taylor 16x34 – named after the dimensions of the space (in feet) – occupies the ground floor of a Chelsea townhouse.

Incorporating curated group and solo exhibitions of historical and contemporary figures, 16x34 draws upon Timothy Taylor’s twenty-year history and London programme, while introducing a distinct vision that acknowledges its location at the heart of the Chelsea art district.

Founder Tim Taylor says of the move “16x34 will capture the spirit of the London programme but apply that vision to the hub of the New York art scene. I wanted a unique space that would allow us to offer something different whilst being in close dialogue with the neighbourhood. I'm looking forward to having this physical presence.”

The gallery’s debut exhibition, details of which will follow, opens week of 19 September, 2016 and runs until 19 November.

Over the past 20 years Timothy Taylor has developed a multi-generational roster of artists, united by a lineage that stems from an interest in Post-War Abstraction. Through this programme, Sean Scully, Kiki Smith, Josephine Meckseper, Richard Patterson, Alex Katz, Gabriel de la Mora, Eduardo Terrazas, Ding Yi, Fiona Rae and Shezad Dawood among others are posited as contemporary peers to the estates of Antoni Tàpies, Hans Hartung, Simon Hantaï and Serge Poliakoff.
