NEW YORK, NY.- Untitled, Art announced today that it has appointed Manuela Mozo as Director. In this new role, Manuela will lead the international development of Untitled and oversee the curatorial and strategic vision of the fairs in Miami and San Francisco. Bringing with her a wealth of experience in the commercial gallery sector, where she has worked closely with artists, gallerists, institutions and collectors for over twenty years, Manuela’s appointment reinforces Untitled’s commitment to furthering its innovative model, and keeping artists and curatorial excellence at the forefront of its mission. Manuela officially joins the Untitled team in July 2017.

Untitled’s new leadership structure will provide founder Jeff Lawson with the opportunity to focus more strategically on optimizing the company’s structures and operations, while also retaining overall strategic management of the fairs.

Manuela Mozo was a partner at Simon Lee Gallery from 2013, where she established the gallery’s office in New York. Prior to this, Manuela was a Director at Metro Pictures and Skarstedt Gallery, both in New York. Manuela holds a Masters in Contemporary Art Theory and Cultural Studies from New York University and currently sits on the advisory board of RxArt.

Since 2012, Omar López-Chahoud has played a pivotal role in the development of Untitled and will continue as Artistic Director for Untitled, Miami Beach this December and thereafter as a curatorial advisor. Additionally, since 2014, Untitled’s curatorial team has included Christophe Boutin and Mélanie Scarciglia, both of who will continue to advise on programming, special projects and other elements which have helped to firmly establish Untitled’s pioneering approach to the standard fair model.

As a curated art fair, Untitled is focused on balance and integrity across all disciplines of contemporary art. Untitled has garnered a reputation for working with a team of respected curators to identify and assemble a selection of international galleries, artistrun exhibition spaces, and non-profit institutions and organizations, in discussion with a site-specific, architecturally-designed venue. Untitled launched in 2012 on the sands of Miami Beach, and is celebrating its sixth year this December. The inaugural edition of Untitled, San Francisco, the first international art fair in the Bay Area, took place in January 2017, cementing Untitled’s outstanding reputation, while at the same time showcasing the local arts community and celebrating the city’s emerging importance as a global center for contemporary art.

On her appointment, Manuela Mozo said: Untitled has established itself as a truly unique and valuable platform for artists, exhibitors and collectors alike. In a constantly evolving industry, Untitled maintains a commitment to innovation and collaboration with galleries, non-profits, curators and artists, that I am thrilled to now be part of. After 20 years working in some of the world’s most prominent galleries and exhibiting at national and international art fairs, I have a true sense of how to create a successful experience on every level. I look forward to leveraging this experience and my commitment to contemporary art practices to cement and advance Untitled’s role in the marketplace, whilst staying true to the artistcentric vision that sets Untitled apart.

The next editions of Untitled will take place in Miami Beach, FL, from December 6 –10, 2017; and in San Francisco, CA, from January 12 – 14, 2018.
