LONDON.- Highlights at the second H&H Classic bike sale at the National Motorcycle Museum on Saturday September 2nd included, Lot 78. a 1951 Black Shadow, £85125; Lot 51. A 1945 Indian Scout, £21,000; Lot 31 a Harley-Davidson Sportster at three times its pre-sale estimate with £7,650; and Lots 2, 3, 4 & 5 “derelict factory finds” selling for over £7,000 in total.

So there was lots to keep bidders interested and on their toes says Mark Bryan, Head of Motorcycle sales at H&H Classics.

Lot 78, the 1951 Vincent Black Shadow Series C 1000 CC was estimated prior to the sale to make £75,000–80,000, and went in the end for £85,125. It was originally delivered new to Sweden and restored by Scandinavian marque expert Severt Bomberg. It boasts many magazine features and the 2005 Best in Show winner at the Vincent annual rally.

Lot 51, a red 1945 Indian Scout 741, 500 CC, estimated to sell for £15,000–£18,000 made £21,000. This original condition and very collectable bike with its matching numbers and in running order attracted a lot of interest as expected.

The sale also included a number of classic cars. Every member of the H&H team was needed for telephone bids for lengthy bidding for a 1975 Jaguar XJS which met with a round of applause when it quadrupled its pre-sale estimate, making a total of £40,000.
