ABERDEEN, MISS.- A heavily carved mahogany Lincoln bed by Mitchell & Rammelsberg in mint condition, an 11-piece R. J. Horner carved mahogany dining room suite with atlas supports, a Regina Corona Victorian music box in working condition with 22 usable disks, and a Lyon & Healy harp with the original shipping crate dated 1894 in Chicago are all about to be auctioned.

Stevens Auction Companys annual fall multi-estate auction, a two-day event planned for Friday, October 6th, from 5-8 pm (Central time) and Saturday, October 7th, starting at 9 am. The sale will be held in Stevens gallery, located at 609 North Meridian Street in Aberdeen. Internet bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com.
Up for bid will be several prominent estates and collections from across the South. The Friday session will be dedicated to over 150 pieces of antique and semi-antique Persian and Oriental rugs, to include Kashan, Tabriz, Hariz, Serapi and Oshak. All are hand-made, 100 percent wool pile rugs in sizes from 3 feet by 5 feet to 12 feet by 18 feet and larger, as well as runner sizes.

The exceptional Mitchell & Rammelsberg Lincoln bed features a high back and eagle crown, and stands an impressive 10 feet 2 inches tall. The magnificent 11-piece R. J. Horner dining room suite includes a 60-inch-wide table with four original leaves, a set of eight chairs, a china cabinet and sideboard. Also sold will be large full- and half-tester plantation beds and lovely secretaries.
The Lyon & Healy harp earned top honors at the Columbian Exposition of 1893. The Regina Corona Victorian music box is coin-operated, with an auto exchanger feature. Its 68 inches tall by 35 inches wide. The Saturday session will also include Old Paris porcelains, antique lighting, a collection of brilliant cut glass, motorcycles, boats, motor homes, automobiles and more.
Artwork will include a lithograph signed and numbered by the renowned surrealist Salvador Dali, titled Blue Unicorn, 21 inches by 24 inches; and an original work by Andreas Nottebohm (b. 1944), the German-American artist who is associated with Op Art, visionary art and space art. Hes one of the key innovators of the metal painting technique. The 80 inch by 48 inch work in the sale, titled KN1010, is artist signed and has the original invoice. Its a 1 of 1 original piece.
Also offered will be hundreds of pieces of Southern finery and home furnishings by such cabinet makers as J. H. Belter, R. J. Horner, Thomas Brooks and many others. Examples will include a Victorian ladies writing desk attributed to Alexander Roux, with birds-eye maple interior and original finish; and a mahogany one-door wardrobe attributed to Mallard, with birds-eye maple interior and carved top. The wardrobe measures 101 inches in height and is 41 inches in width.
Other noteworthy furniture pieces include a rosewood Renaissance half tester bed with the original finish and in excellent condition, with tight bolts; and a Mitchell & Rammelsberg high end wash stand with high marble back splash. Also in the sale is a beautiful, 9-foot-tall white marble fountain with carved cupids, along with grapes and other carvings, 47 inches diameter.
Antique clocks will feature a gorgeous Meissen figural clock and a magnificent three-piece rouge marble mantle clock set, with the clock and two side candelabras having bronze figures.
Rounding out just some of the auctions highlight lots are a magnificent Dresden capped urn with applied flowers and faces on either side, 31 inches in height; a bronze banquet lamp with heads, faces and angels and a Tiffany-style jeweled shade (electrified); and an exceptional pair of antique 19th century carved wood blackamoors, each one proudly standing 75 inches tall.
