NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s, the world’s leading art business, will collaborate with Charitybuzz, the premier online charity auction site, to offer Christie’s institutional clients access to a suite of digital and fundraising services designed to maximize the impact of philanthropic auctions. The collaboration answers a need among cultural institutions and non-profit organizations to create complementary avenues for charitable giving that can be easily coordinated with the traditional auction process.

By utilizing Charitybuzz’s innovative platform, Christie’s clients can select from an array of fundraising approaches to further their fundraising goals “outside the saleroom,” including creating bidding opportunities for exclusive experiences, luxury travel, and access to notable celebrities and influencers.

Through Givergy, a Charitybuzz partner, Christie’s clients can also add digital fundraising channels like interactive silent auctions, online “paddle raises” and pledging capabilities. By integrating these additional fundraising streams with its market-leading auction services, Christie’s can help institutional clients more effectively harness community support and create a comprehensive fundraising campaign that leverages both traditional and digital approaches.

“Christie’s and Charitybuzz share a commitment to exceptional client service, and this new collaboration will allow Christie’s clients to make the most of philanthropic auctions, by extending the experience beyond the saleroom and into the digital realm,” said Ben Erwin, General Manager of Charitybuzz. “No other auction market player has achieved what Christie’s has in terms of philanthropic impact through auctioneering, and we are delighted to join forces to see what we can achieve together on behalf of institutional and non-profit clients.”

Christie’s most recently made auction history with the philanthropic auction of the Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller, which raised a record $835 million on behalf of 12 philanthropic organizations of the family’s choosing. Christie’s differentiates itself among auction houses by partnering with clients in support of their individual philanthropic goals. All of the company’s regional sites worldwide support a range of initiatives on behalf of clients, including the marketing and sale of artworks to benefit charitable causes, offering venues for major fundraising events, and regularly providing expert charity auctioneers to a host of organizations around the world. Over the past year, Christie’s auctioneers have assisted with more than 300 benefit auctions worldwide, raising more than US$60 million.

Charitable organizations and non-profit institutions who wish to learn more about the referral program and Charitybuzz’s and Givergy’s services through Christie’s should contact CharityAuctions@christies.com or visit Christie’s Culture and Philanthropy site online.
