LONDON.- London dealer Thomas Heneage has purchased a Library belonging to the late Wendy Mary Beckett, TV Art Historian and nun, better-known as Sister Wendy. Heneage will offer a large number of books from Sister Wendy’s Library for sale at TEFAF Maastricht (16 – 24 March 2019).

After her death at the end of last year, BBC director of arts Jonty Claypole paid tribute to Sister Wendy, describing her "unique presentation style” as well as her “deep knowledge of and passion for the arts". Sister Wendy’s purpose-built library was next to the caravan she lived in and is made up of some fascinating books, on subjects ranging from Chinese paintings and manuscripts to Old Master Paintings, and contemporary art. This collection of books demonstrates Sister Wendy’s breadth of knowledge and fascination with all areas of the art world.

Thomas Heneage Art Books (stand 384) will bring over 5,000 books to TEFAF Maastricht this year, including art reference books, catalogues raisonnés, monographs and exhibition catalogues.

TEFAF Maastricht is widely regarded as the world's premier Fair for fine art, antiques and design. Featuring over 275 prestigious dealers from some 20 countries, TEFAF Maastricht is a showcase for the finest art works currently on the market.
