BERLIN.- For the fifth time,
DAM is presenting Summer Splash, a group show traditionally wrapping up the first half of the year.
We are happy to introduce to you for the first time within our program the artistic positions of Arno Beck and ea bertrams. With different approaches, both artists create images where traditional techniques meet digital aesthetics, the virtual and the analog become indistinguishable.
Artists of the gallery present new works, ranging from the hyperrealistic and surreal 3D-animations of Eelco Brand to the interactive, electronical objects of Peter Vogel. Moreover, there is a reunion with a longtime acquaintance of the gallery and a pioneer of digital art as well as founding member of the Algorists, USA-based artist Jeane-Pierre Hébert, who is showing plotter drawings.
Arno Beck creates compositions based on typical digital aesthetic, but using analogue techniques.
ea betrams introduces a new series of drawings called "Grid 1". The two artworks are based on a grid created with Processing and combine delicate hand drawings with elements that are drawn digitally on the screen.
"ZD.movi" by Eelco Brand is a new animated depiction of nature that is equally rhythmical and poetic as it is humorous.
Peter Vogel is featured with two objects from 1998 that have not been exhibited yet. His aesthetical reliefs interact with their viewer.
Jean-Pierre Hébert presents three of his well-known algorithmical plotter drawings from 1995 and 2001.
