Listen like you're In China, Talk from the US - 3 Things That Matter The Most in Marketing

The ability to deal with people is as purchasable a commodity as sugar or coffee and I will pay more for that ability than for any other under the sun.
John D. Rockefeller

Time is the largest commodity that is under traded. The person under trading it are the people in control of it.

The 3 most important things when it comes to websites, content, and sales.

1. Perception
"What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are."
― C.S. Lewis, the Magician's Nephew

Perception is important pointing both ways.
You have a perception about the project, about yourself, and about your customer. The deeper you dive the more your perspective will widen which will grant you a greater understanding of your customer and their needs, wants, desires, and more importantly their motivation to make a change. The entire perception of a project can shift with one critical piece of information.

Perception is a word we don't use in every day vocabulary. Realize that what you believe may not be the truth. It is the truth but only a version of it? I don't know exactly what you call it. You can't deal in black and white when you realize perception is reality. Whatever a person has made up in their mind and is emotionally chained to, they will not allow anything else in their mind to be reality.

Emotions are the greatest factor to having a perception so greatly rooted that you cannot allow a shift.

Realize that it is the same for your customer. If you are approaching the problems they have from purely a financial standpoint then you are not hitting the 99% of the equation that will influence most decisions. You have to create an emotional demand. The emotional perception that your customer has towards your product and or the problem it solves better be in line with how you are presenting your service or you will go bald from scratching your head…

A coupon site like iusecoupon.com assures visitors of getting good gearbest or other store discounts on the page without having to subscribe to any email list first or share a page on social media and this is clearly what users on the site want and expect by visiting the site.

Main point you need to understand from the Perception Point is Design and Headlines.
Perception is created in the first few minutes of learning about you. Design and Headlines are what create the perception your customers have of your office, website, professional ability, and of course of you. They get these perception from looking at your design and headlines.

If the design of the page they are on and the form they have to fill out doesn't look outstanding then you are "shady" and a spammer. If the headline does not set an emotional charge then you will not get as many click through on your site.

This is why you see so many faces on websites. People relate to people and feel more trusting from seeing a face attached to a website than just a logo. Human to Human marketing is what you are doing, not B2B or B2C.

2. Time Management
I am definitely going to take a course on time management… just as soon as I can work it into my schedule. – Louis E. Boone

Time Management is key in everything on the internet.

Have you ever surfed the web for two hours only realize you literally "did" nothing? I know I have. Television is the same way. Time management is one of the most important skills and again perception effects this as well. You have to have a mix of "getting things done" coupled with wisdom on "prioritization." If you are after results it is sometimes better to think through the endless mounds of needed task to do and focus on what the result is you are wanting. Don't stress if you don't get the task done if you get the result that means more to you as a person, company, or individual.

There is so much out on time management it is often hard to find out what to use, do, and how to manage it. I would start with a couple of ideas:

• If you want to manage it then track it

• If you want to make sure and execute something, follow up after you make the deal.

• If you want to make a sale then do what you say before you said you would.

• If you want to have a happy spouse, think of something they would want and do it often without them asking and without reason other than love.

• If you want great kids when they are older, then study proverbs from the bible and talk daily for their entire life about the chapter of the day in proverbs with their interaction (let them read).

• If you want to learn about Time Management then use a note card and make 4 things you want to accomplish and that is it for the day.

Major points on Time Management as a skill set
I loved a lot of the time management items I have utilized and I often feel that time management makes people feel like a robot. I understand that. This again is an emotional problem. You have to decide what you want out of your days and then plan accordingly. Again, we often get busy and forget to get results.

I don't have the perfect management tool to share as I think your brain is the most amazing tool ever. I would suggest that you utilize something as simple as Evernote and learn to make a daily ritual of organizing your thoughts and tracking what you are doing.

My biggest downfall is often jumping into the "doing" of things instead of working a plan and "strategically working" on task. I would suggest you monitor this with yourself.

3. Communication
Listen like you’re In China, Talk in the U.S.

Communication is simply a must. It is strange that different cultures have an understanding of communication differently. In china it is up to the listener or the receiver of the communication to interpret what the meaning is. In the United States though it is up to the communicator to make sure the audience understands exactly what the meaning of the communication is.

The reality is that you should listen like you are in China and communicate like you are in the US. ~ Will Robins

When you are building out content, making blog post, talking on the phone, or sending text messages you should always make sure you know exactly what the person is saying to you and make sure you communicate as simple as possible so that they understand exactly what you are saying to them.

With perception being such a big part of communication it is obvious why so many of us struggle to understand one another and understand what our prospects want.
