CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA.- Miami art collector Jason Schoen will discuss the works currently on view in “Coming Home: American Paintings, 1930 – 1950 from the Schoen Collection”, at the Lowe Art Museum. The lecture on Thursday, January 20 begins at 7 PM and is sponsored by the Fedor Family Endowment for Art Education. Featuring more than 120 narrative paintings from the era of the mid 20th Century, this exhibition echoes the sweeping artistic, social and political transformations that took place during two of the most critical decades in American history; from the tragic Wall Street Crash of 1929, the euphoria celebrating a slice of American life, through the years of the Great Depression to World War II’s effect on the home front.
