Eli Wilner & Company offers museums a fully-funded frame restoration grant opportunity
An original Stanford White frame restored by Eli Wilner & Company for the Maryland State Archives.

NEW YORK, NY.- In an effort to assist the many treasured but vulnerable museums and non-profit arts and historical institutions around the country during this difficult time, Eli Wilner & Company will award a non-profit institution with one fully-funded frame restoration grant. Submissions for the grant will be accepted through April 30th, 2020. The recipient institution will be announced later this spring.

Due to the fact that many curatorial and conservation staff do not have physical access to their collections at this time, a very simple application process has been established.

Here is the criteria:

● Entries should be emailed to: info@eliwilner.com

● Subject line of the email should read: [Name of Institution] frame restoration grant application

● At least one image of the frame and approximate sizes.

● A brief description (3-4 sentences) of why the frame is historically and culturally significant to your institution.

● Please include basic contact information.

While only one institution will be awarded a fully-funded grant at this time, all entries will be considered for Wilner's ongoing matching funds for museums program. Eli Wilner & Company hopes to support as many institutions as possible as they continue their mission to preserve our shared cultural heritage.

Eli Wilner & Company has completed over 10,000 framing projects for private collectors, museums, and institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and 28 projects for The White House. In 2019, Wilner was honored by the Historic Charleston Foundation with the Samuel Gaillard Stoney Conservation Craftsmanship Award, for their work in historic picture frame conservation.
