Digital art is a big business in the 21st century. A digital artist is not only recognized but also in-demand.

Digital art is a brand's logo, an advertisement poster on social media, a digital invitation, and even a business newsletter.

Digitalization has changed the business opportunities for the current generation’s artist. So if you are an artist, this is the perfect time for you to start your own art business.

A few things to be educated about before you start your business

1. Online selling
In the digital world, everything sells. The tools to sell are a website of your name/brand, where people can reach you and place orders. Another place to offer your services would be online market places like Fiver, Guru, stock images, or Behance; here, you will be able to approach a large national/international clientele and pitch your services.

2. Identify your target market.
Different types of art sell in different places for various means. For instance, as a digital artist, you can use your skills to make wedding cards for couples. For this, you can approach wedding service companies or individuals getting married. You can contact a small business person to make their logo or their social media post. It is all about the work you can offer to your client and what industry you want to work with

In the digital world, marketing is necessary. There are millions of artists, and if you want to be successful, you would need a unique, memorable, and effective marketing strategy. Social media is your biggest tool; it will require little investment but reciprocate in significant ways.

3. Satisfy your clients
You must consult your client every step of the way while doing their work. Even after you deliver the work and they need you to make some changes don't hesitate. One satisfied client will bring in others. Also, a happy client will always keep returning to you with more and more work.

4. Digital invoices
The biggest issue while working digital is making the bills. Just saying the amount of money seems unprofessional. Hence you can use an online free invoice generator. Not only will it be highly professional but also give the client your contact details, a proper feature of where their money was spent, and you can add in your terms & conditions at the end.

5. Following up to previous clients
Every brand sends celebration cards and digital newsletters to their clients every once in a while. It would be best if you did it too, and being an artist, you can do it in a way no one can. So when you have completed a client's order, never forget to take their numbers or email addresses and save them.

6. Build a network
Another way to promote your business would be to contact other people who are doing the same thing. It can be an excellent way to learn new things. It will expose you to other art opportunities you might not be aware of yet. You should also become a part of art organizations. They can be a massive resource to your business in regards to marketing your work and your brand.

7. Keep track of your ledger.
Every successful business person maintains accounts of their spending and sales. It is only this way you will be able to become a profitable business.

8. Always keep learning and evolving.
Art is evolving each moment, and if you want to be relevant, you need to keep learning new things, practice them, and once you become an expert - you can expand your business!
