Selling art via social media

Social media now is not just about socializing.

Did you know that according to research, people saw an 81% increase in their sales when they advertised on social media?

However, it isn't that easy to advertise and get results. You need to have an effective media strategy planned and then execute it with discipline. Kontentino will help make your marketing campaign easier.

Here are five ways to make your social media campaign more effective and sell your art.

1. Regularly post your content.
Artists often complain that they don't get a response from social media. But the reason behind it is that they only make a few posts and then leave their pages inactive for days. If you want to get a response from social media, you have to put up something on your social media account every day. It can be a small story or a detailed post, but this way, when your audience sees you every day, they will be reminded of you when they want some work done.

2. A personal touch
When you are approaching or dealing with a potential client, you should be professional, but with that, you should be a little personal too. For instance, saying something like 'Have a good day' 'Greetings of the day' 'It was a pleasure talking/dealing with you' will have a considerable effect on your client.

While marketing the social media post should always be about art, it would be good to share your experiences with your audience every once in a while. However, stay away from content that is opinioned and in the trends. Talk to your followers in the comment section but never fight with them.

3. Don’t go for all at once
There are multiple social media platforms, but that does not mean that you have to be on all of them. You can start with the platform you feel you know the most and the platform with your potential clients.

Market their consistently until you have gathered a loyal following. It will take time, patience, and hard work.

4. Learn and grow
Social media is evolving every day, and new apps are coming out daily. Hence you need to be on more than one platform.

However, before you join any new platform, it is best to study it, practice it, and then jump into it. You certainly cannot afford blunders when it comes to public profiles. A mistake, even if it is small one can cause considerable damage.

5. Follow other artists
Always follow and look for artists who are doing better than you. This is your chance to investigate what they are doing better than you. Then you can use similar strategies to promote yourself. Please don't copy them; instead, get inspired by them.
If they can be this big, then you can be too.

6. Experimentation
When you start marketing, you will come across different strategies. Some will be successful and some unsuccessful. A good marketer is always up to doing new things and dabbling with different choices.

This way, you will learn what your audience loves or hates. Analytical tools can be a great way to measure how your audience responded. This experience will make your strategy more effective than ever before.

Social media has changed the business scene for every industry, even for art. Artists used to spend months pitching to galleries to showcase their work and sometimes also pay for their work to be showcased. However, now you can set up a social media account and show your work all by yourself!
