AMSTERDAM.- Five years after the successful introduction of the "Haute Photographie" fair, Roy Kahmann decided it was time for a new chapter. Enter the new online auction house. Born from his buoyant desire to infuse the photography world with new vigor, “Haute Auctions” is a digital platform that will bring aficionados from around the world to the edge of their seats.

With the first lineup featuring the captivating works of William Klein, Roland Fischer, Bastiaan Woudt, Desiree Dolron, Jasper Krabbé, and Paul Cupido, including a unique portrait of Andy Warhol and an archival pigment print sequence, these auctions promise to lead to blistering tension in the final moments before the hammer strikes. Initial auction estimates range from 7,500 to 25,000 Euros.

With "Haute Auctions," Kahmann, as one of the largest Dutch collectors in the photography world, wants to bring a new flavor to art photography auctions and to complement classic institutions like Sotheby's, Christie's and Phillips, considered the major household names for premier destination auctions.

To take on this task, he appointed Jop Ubbens (former director, Christie's Netherlands) to his advisory board and Margitte Verwoerdt (former specialist, Post-War & Contemporary Art, Bonhams) as co-curator and organizer. Kahmann has been committed to pushing new talent for years and believes that timing is crucial: "Now is the right time to present and sell the top works of art photographers more prominently online as well as offer exposure to undiscovered talent."

National talent, international ambition
Not only will creations from well-established talent hit the auction block, but also the works of young, emerging Dutch talent will also come under the hammer. “We want to offer international quality while focusing on talent closer to home at the same time. Presenting their oeuvre to be recognized on a global scale is of exceptional importance. That is why we only auction limited copies of sold-out editions, for instance,” says Margitte Verwoerdt.

Exclusive remote previews with experts
Remote viewings will be offered for the more prominent works with the accompaniment of video guides by experts providing further context and explanations. Prospective buyers will get a unique and vivid impression of these items prior to bidding.
