Three sleeping beauties emerge from more than a combined century's worth of slumber
1967 Jaguar MK2 2.4 Estimate £5,000 - £7,500.

LONDON.- Our love of cars follows many paths: one of the less trodden is taken by those people who so love a car that they put it away for 50 years in a garage or barn under a tarpaulin rather than part with it. Maybe this shows as much love as those who spend fortunes restoring such cars?

In the next H&H Classics sale on September 16 these two groups have a chance to connect briefly when three cars which have been in storage for between three and five decades each – true barn finds - come to auction. The trio of sleeping beauties will thus have a chance of attracting buyers / restorers who will relish the challenge of bringing them back to life.

The cars are a Jaguar, a Rover and a Singer. There is something a bit magical about finding cars like these and bringing them out of hibernation for a brief moment in the auction spotlight, and once sold whisked off to a new owner’s restoration garage for a transformation that may take months, perhaps years.

Damian Jones, Head of Sales with H&H says: “Each of these cars would justify some serious TLC as each is a collector’s piece worthy of restoration.”

1967 Jaguar MK2 2.4 Estimate £5,000 - £7,500
The 1967 Jaguar MK2 has been sleeping peacefully for the last 34 years. A true lockup find the Jaguar is cream, with a navy interior.

It is reportedly a very solid car with a fantastic interior that would make a very worthy winter restoration project.

It is offered for sale with some paperwork, past tax discs, and MOT certificates.

1962 Singer Vogue - No Reserve
The Singer Vogue has been with the seller for 50 years, after being purchased from its second owner and then stored in a Lancashire lockup ever since.

The Singer is understood to have covered just 32,864 miles from new. It has a broken windscreen, but there is a replacement on the back seat that has never been fitted. The interior is apparently ‘like new’, but will need a deep clean.

The main body is said to be in very good shape but will need new sills that are provided.

It comes with an old RF 60 logbook and an old MOT certificate.

1959 Rover 80 Estimate - £2,000 - £4,000
The lovely old Rover 80 has been peacefully resting in a Lancashire lockup for the last 31 years. It is said to be a very solid example of the marque.

It is finished in black with a red leather interior which the seller deems to be in remarkable condition.

It is being sold with paperwork on file and with some old MOT certificates.
