What is the ideal flexible workplace?

A meeting room, brainstorming room, quiet room, telephone corner, and an informal space. In which flexible workplace is your staff most productive?

Flexible working is more than furnishing a large open-plan office in which no one has their 'own' fixed workplace anymore. Do you want to get the most out of your employees in the new way of working? Then the flexible workplace must be diverse.

The range of workspaces must be sufficiently varied so that employees can find a workplace at any time of the day that suits the activity they want to perform at that moment.

Offering flexible workplaces is crucial
85 percent of employees in a flexible workplace concept with a lot of choice say that their working environment allows them to work productively. However, of employees who have a limited range of workspaces, only 35 percent say that the work environment allows them to work productively.

Brainstorming space, quiet room and standing table
To make mobile working a success, there must therefore be sufficient choice of office spaces. Are your employees going to brainstorm? Then they want to be in an inspiring environment where their creativity comes into their own.

Is it a short meeting to review the state of affairs? Then a loft with a standing table promotes productivity. And if a report has to be prepared, the employee wants to be able to find a quiet room. It may therefore be the case that an employee works in several places on one day. For each activity, he looks at which office concept fits best.

Employee is the most flexible
"The data shows that flexible workplace concepts can go terribly wrong, but that if they are set up well, employees are significantly more satisfied,"

'The secret therefore lies mainly in the variety of office spaces that you offer as an employer. The most flexible component of a flexible workplace concept is the employee, but only if the work environment, technology and management offer him that opportunity. '

How do you choose external flexible workplaces?
Tackling the workplaces in the office and facilitating working from home is already a good step towards mobile working. But you can go one step further by offering flex desks on location. Working for a short time in a different environment promotes creativity.

Sometimes it is just above all practical. If your employees are on the road a lot, it is better for them to work at a flexible workplace nearby for those few hours in between than having to drive all the way to the office first.

Choosing an external flex workplace
The range of flexible workplaces on location is enormous. How do you choose the most convenient and best option for your employees? Price and location are of course important factors. Also take into account the extra facilities, the flexibility (can you work there at any time, also last minute?) And the atmosphere.
