NEW YORK, NY.- Celebrated musician and artist Les Claypool, in collaboration with YellowHeart, the NFT marketplace for music, ticketing and community tokens which accepts both crypto and credit card payments, announced today an exclusive and innovative new audio, visual NFT series called “Pulsating Poetry Paintings.” Claypool, who is widely regarded for his wildly inventive musical style, delved into new artistic mediums during the pandemic, creating distinctive new pieces that will thrill fans who have an appetite for innovative arts.

The series is an episodic experience crafted from the "bent noir," acrylic paintings on canvas by Les Claypool. Each painting is animated to a new original song. The collection will evolve into a full original Les Claypool album and art collection as the series is released, with each piece produced and animated by Les’ son and visual artist Cage Claypool. Each video moment has accompanying bonus downloadable content including a HI-RES of the video, Wav file of the music and the original painting. The blending of traditional mediums with a digital format will offer a truly unique artisan NFT experience, providing many layers for fans to peel back, discover and enjoy the evolving visual album experience by Les Claypool.

The first video artwork piece in the NFT collection entitled “Self Within Him Self” is now available for purchase.

“During this last year of craziness, I found it difficult to get motivated to create music for the first time in 30 years. I instead opted to spend the summer on my John Deere 35D excavator busting dirt and clearing fire trails from our land around Rancho Relaxo. The result was not just a movement of earth and foliage but also a cathartic sweep of dust and cobwebs from my cluttered and confused cranium,” said Les Claypool. “It was soon after that I found solace in putting brush to canvas. Having accumulated a collection of imagery that reflected my taste for classic film as well as black velvet paintings, I then heard of this new conduit for art called NFT's. Confused by the notion, I just put my own twist on this medium. I call them Pulsating Poetry Paintings, another form of PPP for the Covid age.”

“Les Claypool is not only known as one of the greatest bass players of all time through his legendary work with Primus and Oysterhead, but also an artistic visionary who has the rare ability to create high art through every medium he touches,” said Josh Katz, CEO and founder of YellowHeart. “Through the unbridled power of NFTs and blockchain technology, Les now has the ability to take all of his artistic, musical and creative output and release it directly to his fans. With new music, amazing original art, and ARG, Les is a perfect example of an artist who can push the perceived norms of creative boundaries and create a collection that is as dynamic as it is fun.”
