Study at colleges in Canada (IT, computer science, and technology)

Public colleges of the province of Ontario offer a wide range of programs in the field of computer technology, information technology, and computer science.

Students, graduates of schools and universities can enroll in colleges in Canada. To do this, students must submit an application for enrollment and the necessary documents in advance through an educational agency.

Computer Science in colleges in Canada

Before submitting documents, we advise you to carefully approach the question of choosing a program and course in the field of computer science. The study program is quite complicated, that’s why while being a student I struggled a lot when I had to write my paper for me. The direction of "Computer Science" in Canadian colleges is represented by several courses, which can be conditionally divided into the following groups:

· Computer – Applications
· Computer – Gaming
· Computer – Networking/ Communications
· Computer – Programmer/ Analyst
· Computer – Repair/ Maintenance
· Computer Security
· Computer – Software
· Computer – Systems/ Engineering Tech
· Information Management/ Informatics
· Web - Design/ Development

We noticed that the most popular areas among international students are Computer Security, Software Engineering, Programming, Web Design. In addition to these courses, the direction of Mobile Computing and Applications is gaining popularity.

Before you start choosing an educational institution, you need to decide what course you want to study. Only after that, you can consider educational programs and colleges.

Diplomas in colleges in Canada

Colleges of the province of Ontario offer international students training in the following programs in the field of computer science and technology:

* Ontario College Diploma – a professional diploma in a specific course. The duration of training is 2 years. The program is suitable for graduates of schools and universities.

* Ontario College Advanced Diploma – a 3-year program that provides an opportunity to obtain a higher professional diploma, which entitles you to continue your education at a college or university of Canada on a bachelor's program. The program is suitable only for school graduates.

* Bachelor's Degree is a bachelor's program that lasts for 4 years and allows you to get a diploma of higher education, with the opportunity to continue studying at the university at the master's level.

The program is suitable only for school graduates

* Ontario College Graduate Certificate is a one-year program for graduates of foreign universities who want to improve their professional level in a certain field.

Please note that not all colleges in Canada provide training in computer science and technology at the bachelor's level. Many educational institutions provide an opportunity to get a higher diploma (3 years), which allows you to continue studying at the bachelor's level at the university.

The cost of studying at colleges in Canada

The cost of studying at colleges in the province of Ontario in the course of computer science and technology depends on two factors: the educational institution and the program of study (that is, the diploma that you receive at the end).

On average, the cost of one year of study ranges from 15,000 to 18,000 Canadian dollars. The cost of programs at the diploma and higher diploma level ranges from 14,000 to 16,000 Canadian dollars.

Do not forget that administrative fees, textbooks, insurance and, of course, accommodation are additionally paid. Scholarships in the form of discounts are available only at some colleges at the level of bachelor's programs.

Minimum requirements for admission to college in Canada

The minimum requirements for admission depend on the program (diploma). School graduates are usually required to provide an extract of grades for the last three years of study (if the certificate of secondary education has not yet been received) and an English language test at the level of IELTS 6.0 (diploma programs) IELTS 6.5 (Bachelor's degree).

Students and university graduates must provide a copy of the credit and IELTS 6.5.

When can I start training?
