LONDON.- The Other Art Fair is a global gathering of creative thinkers, game changers and pleasure seekers sharing emerging talent and unforgettable experiences. The artist-led fair combines boundary-pushing yet always affordable artworks with immersive installations, performances and a few curious encounters. The result is an inspiring, evocative, inclusive and fun art fair experience that reframes art. This summer, the fair returns to King’s Cross West Handyside Canopy with an unforgettable program spanning guest exhibitions, large scale installations, DJ sets, and even live tattooing.

1. Exclusive live photobooth presented by Alison Jackson “Strike a Pose with the Queen”

BAFTA Award winning artist and photographer Alison Jackson joins the line up as this year’s Guest Artist and presents ‘Strike a Pose with The Queen’, an exclusive live installation photobooth. Jackson is known for her provocative and humorous photographs depicting the rich and famous doing things in private using cleverly styled lookalikes and life like sculptures.

For the first time and exclusively for the Fair, Jackson will bring along her Queen (also known as the actress who poses as the queen in Jackson’s work) for ‘Strike a Pose with The Queen’, offering visitors the once in a lifetime opportunity to be immortalised next to Her Majesty on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee - pose having a cuppa with Queenie, or sit on a throne aside the fine lady herself. Alison Jackson will personally take and sign the photograph, leaving each visitor with an invaluable and personal artwork to take home for just £35. The Queen will be present during the Private View: Thursday 30th June from 6-8pm.

2. BAKER AND BOROWSKI’S GRAPHIC REWILDING ENTRANCE INSTALLATION

As part of their ongoing Graphic Rewilding project, Baker & Borowski will present an eye-catching entrance installation outside the fair. Their works explore all things floral, extrapolating the colours, shapes and forms that populate outdoor spaces and introducing them into urban contexts. Through depicting the natural world in the city, the duo aims to inspire and encourage people to connect a little more with nature.

3. ART ON A POSTCARD’S ANNUAL SUMMER AUCTION 2022

Art on a Postcard will exhibit an impressive line-up of postcard-sized masterpieces which include works by the doyenne of performance art Marina Abramović, National Portrait Gallery BP Portrait Award-winner Ishbel Myerscough, along-side emerging artists such as Jade Montserrat, Tosin Kalejaye and Ruairi Fallon. Take home an original mini-masterpiece by a highly collectible artist with bidding starting at just £50. All proceeds to the Hepatitis C Trust towards its campaign to eradicate hepatitis C in the UK by the year 2030.

4. A MASSIVE FREE PUBLIC INSTALLATION BY FLYINGLEAPS AND UNCLE

flyingleaps and UNCLE will wrap the fair perimeter of The Other Art Fair’s July 2022 London Edition with their signed, limited-edition posters created by both emergent and established practitioners including: Magda Archer, Dr. D, Jeremy Deller, Tim Fishlock, Marcus Harvey, Benjamin Irritant, Heath Kane, Hayden Kays, Sarah Maple, Robert Montgomery, Simon Robert, Dolores de Sade, Sarah Staton, Mark Titchner, Mark Wallinger and many more.

Displayed together, the posters address diverse personal and wider social and political issues associated with the ongoing state of the nation. The thought-provoking spectacle will bring some public art and a little political provocation to King’s Cross West Handyside Canopy, and remain public and free for all to view! Visitors will also be able to purchase posters at the flyingleaps stand inside the fair.

5. A curious display of weird and wonderful photography by Instagram famous creator Petite Doll, plus over 110 emerging artists ready to be discovered

Surrealist photo artist with over 181k followers on Instagram Petite Doll joins the line-up for the first time. Visitors can meet her and learn all about her much-loved wacky self-portraits created by seamlessly blending handmade props, sculptures, make-up artistry and photoshop.

Plus artwork across painting, photography, sculpture, and more by over 110 game changing artists including: hugely popular illustrator Hannah Gilson, who has worked with the likes of House of Hackney, ES Magazine, Liberty and Anthropologie, G Sing B who’s hyper-realistic drawings of celebrities and the rich and famous have garnered him a significant Instagram following of over 100K, and Artist duo Phillips-Walmsley who have previously been commissioned to design and install large-scale public artworks by the Southbank Centre, Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Alongside exploring amazing artworks, why not get a hand-poked tattoo by Sticks Not Stones from just £150. There will also be DJ sets every night from Thursday to Saturday from Hannah Lamb, Lora and Aleksandir.

The Other Art Fair has created something different, combining affordable art with unforgettable experiences, with editions now in London, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Sydney, and Melbourne. Hailed as ‘the future of art’ by The Guardian, The Other Art Fair will delight and inspire visitors with its diverse and immersive programme that has previously included interactive theatre, taxidermy classes, immersive dining, charity collaborations, guest artist installations, workshops, and a colourful line-up of renowned Guest Artists. If you’re looking for unusual encounters, this one’s for you.

With more than 50 shops and restaurants in the area, King’s Cross also offers a whole host of places to eat, drink and shop during a visit to The Other Art Fair.
