RUNNEMEDE, NJ.- Rare and exceptionally high-quality pop culture items have hit the market as part of Goldin’s July Comics Video Games & Trading Card Game Auction. Among the pop culture treasure trove are highly-sought after collectibles from some of the most beloved individuals and properties in entertainment history.

Headlining the new Goldin event is an original 1984 Star Wars factory-sealed VHS tape. The film franchise is one of the highest grossing media properties of all time and is widely regarded as one of the most influential films in history. The tape received a coveted IGS MINT 9/MINT 9 grade and late last year, a copy of the same film sold for nearly $60,000 through Goldin.

The auction also includes rare items from some of the most famous celebrities in American history, including a fedora worn by the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. An iconic item that would define his stage performances and imagery for his illustrious career, the fedora is expected to attract intense attention from bidders. Additionally, a rare signed photo of aviation innovator Charles Lindbergh is up for auction, who 95 years ago made his famed flight across the Atlantic.

“It’s a thrill to host auctions that feature a selection of rare items from some of the most beloved media properties and famed celebrities in American pop culture,” said Goldin Executive Chairman and Founder Ken Goldin. “These individuals – be they real or fictional, Luke Skywalker or Michael Jackson – are a part of the fabric of American and world history. Owning one of these items is like owning a memory or a feeling come to life.”

For fans who can’t get enough 1980’s and 1990’s nostalgia, the auction also boasts a copy of Transformers #1 comic, which features the first appearance of the “Robots in Disguise”. The auction also features an encapsulated copy of 1992 SNES video game classic Street Fighter II. The sealed copy received a 9.8 grade by Wata Games. Among the 121 examples in Wata's census reporting, only nine have achieved this grade, with none graded higher.

Goldin has built a reputation as the trusted leader in trading cards, memorabilia and collectibles. The July Comics Video Games & Trading Card Game Auction is open now and closes July 14. Goldin is also actively accepting consignments for future auctions.
