In line with its core values, the fair places great emphasis on Art Education, offering workshops and tours designed to foster and inspire young people to develop their interest in art.

MESSAGE FROM THE FAIR FOUNDER

Will Ramsay, Founder of Affordable Art Fair, says: "As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Affordable Art Fair in Hong Kong, it's a special milestone for me personally. I first visited Asia in 1987 when I was just 18 years old and was struck by its incredible energy. It's wonderful to see that energy is still alive today. Returning 20 years later to establish Affordable Art Fair was a tremendous opportunity, and it has been a privilege to play a part in the development of Hong Kong's art scene. Starting with just 30 local galleries in 2007, it has truly been satisfying to see the fair grow and flourish, and I'm proud of the role we've played in making that happen.”

SPECIAL PROJECTS TO PAY HOMAGE TO HONG KONG

This year's Special Projects for Hong Kong’s 10th anniversary celebration promise to be a unique experience that showcases some of the city's most iconic cultures and spaces through large-scale installations. These installations are designed to capture the essence of Hong Kong and offer visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the city's rich cultural heritage.

Affordable Art Fair will be collaborating with 5 local and international artists to create works of art that showcase their unique vision and interpretation of Hong Kong. This collaboration will bring together diverse perspectives and artistic styles, creating in a fascinating and thought-provoking space. Visitors can look forward to an exceptional display of art that reflects the vibrant energy and creativity of Hong Kong.

“YOUNG TALENT HK X HKWALLS”: RISING STARS SHOWCASING TALENTS THROUGH STREET ARTS AND CULTURE

Affordable Art Fair is committed to providing opportunities for emerging artists to advance their careers. The fair recognises the importance of nurturing young talent. Therefore, it continues to support and encourage the next generation of dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic artists by providing them with a platform to showcase their work. In line with this commitment, Affordable Art Fair is proud to present this year's Young Talent Hong Kong, highlighting the creative talents of ten up-and-coming artists who have participated in the HKwalls Youth Mentorship Programme. These young artists will have the opportunity to display their work and connect with the public at the fair.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY ART EXPERIENCES

In order to cultivate and ignite a passion for the arts in the younger generation, Affordable Art Fair has partnered with Art Loop to jointly organise a series of educational art tours and workshops. The special hour-long art immersion journey is designed for children aged 4 to 12 years old, offering children an unforgettable experience that fosters their love for art.

These tours, led by Art Loop's skilled instructors, will guide children through gallery booths and curated projects at the fair, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn how to appreciate art and develop critical thinking skills. By exploring different styles, techniques, and artistic subjects showcased in the exhibited artwork at the Affordable Art Fair, children will gain a deeper understanding of the art world. Furthermore, they will have the chance to create a mini project of their own and showcase their finished work at the fair.

The children's tour and workshop is priced at $250 per student, which includes a tour t-shirt, tour book, and all necessary workshop materials. Sessions are available four times a day and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

In partnership with AAF, STOKKE will also generously provide complimentary strollers to families participating in the tours. As a family-oriented brand, this collaboration is a perfect match that provides convenience for parents, facilitating a comfortable and enjoyable browsing experience for the entire family.
