MONTRÉAL, CANADA.-For 20 years already, the Board of Montreal Museum Directors has been giving museum lovers the chance to take free shuttle buses around the city, hopping from one institution to another. On Sunday, May 28, no fewer than 35 museums will be welcoming visitors free of charge from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be guided tours, multimedia shows, workshops for children, demonstrations by craftspeople, and tastings of local products: a real celebration at our museums, thanks to Quebecor inc., presenting sponsor for the event, and the support of Destination centre-ville and of the STM.

Last year, 125,000 visitors took us up on the invitation. Come join us on May 28 this year! You can hop on the bus at any participating museum or at the information hub at the Journal de Montréal building, where the first museum is already waiting for you...

Turning 20 is something to celebrate, especially since the theme of International Museum Day 2006, launched by UNESCO, is “Museums and Young People.” It fits in just perfectly with the 20th anniversary!
