NEW YORK.- National Jewelry Institute at the Forbes Galleries Following the hugely successful exhibition of Treasures of the Titans: 1900-1950, The Forbes Galleries will unveil an exhibition of jewelry and collectibles of famous and powerful personages from the 1950s to the present in Spring 2006.
The exhibition will showcase precious objects owned by the rich and famous from entertainers to media barons, fashion icons to military generals and politicians. Like its forerunner, this exhibition will have four themed categories: Arts & Society, Sports & Entertainment, Government & Royalty and Industry & Finance. All pieces in the show will be quintessential examples of beautiful objects ranging from watches to necklaces, commemorative boxes and medals to cufflinks and money clips.
Highlights will include Elton Johns Cartier diamond-studded brooch for his 1989-90 world tour; Princess Graces Scorpio Pendant, John F. Kennedys Rocking Chair cuff links; Elizabeth Taylors Fabergé egg scent flacon, President Dwight D. Eisenhowers pocket watch and Prince Rainiers desk set to name a few choice examples.
Treasures of the Titans: 1950 - Present is curated by the National Jewelry Institute whose mission is to preserve, research and exhibit fine jewelry from all over the world.
