Jane Lombard Gallery announces JLG Projects: Spotlight exhibitions expanding the gallery experience
Jane Lombard Gallery was founded in New York in 1995 as Lombard-Freid Projects.

NEW YORK, NY.- Jane Lombard Gallery announced the launch of JLG Projects, a new artist spotlight series of curated exhibitions designed to expand upon artists' practices under unique and focused circumstances. Hosted either at the gallery in TriBeCa or at pop-up locations, JLG Projects aims to provide audiences with an intimate exploration of an artist’s body of work, a defining decade in their career, or a specific artwork presented in extraordinary contexts.

JLG Projects offers a dynamic platform that expands the traditional gallery model by creating space for immersive and unconventional presentations. Running parallel to the gallery’s regular schedule of exhibitions, this initiative invites both established gallery artists and those new to the program to present their work in innovative ways. Conceived in response to the evolving needs of artists, JLG Projects will complement the traditional exhibition program with site-specific activations, installations, and performances. By broadening its approach to exhibitions, the gallery seeks to build meaningful connections between artists and audiences, and foster dialogues around the power of art.

Lisa Carlson, Senior Director at Jane Lombard Gallery, explains: “JLG Projects allows us to rethink how we present and interact with art. By focusing on pivotal aspects of an artist’s work, we’re able to provide audiences with a more nuanced and layered understanding of their creative journey and oftentimes activate remote locations that expand the understanding of an artist’s output. It’s a way to experience art in a new way.”

The inaugural JLG Projects exhibition will spotlight Detroit-based textile artist Sam Dienst, whose vibrant tapestries weave together daily experiences blurring the boundaries between object and self.
