ALKERSUM / FÖHR.- The Museum Kunst der Westküste unveiled its diverse and engaging exhibition program for 2025, promising art enthusiasts a year filled with captivating displays and thought-provoking installations.

A Year of Diverse Artistic Exploration

Kicking off the new year, the museum continues to showcase its recently opened exhibitions, "Moments of Clarity – Janus la Cour and the New Image of Nature" and "Remembrance – Photographic Positions by Nicole Ahland, Corina Gertz, and Kris Scholz". These exhibitions, which delve into the interplay between nature, memory, and contemporary artistic perspectives, will remain on display until the summer of 2025, offering visitors ample time to experience their profound narratives.

New Beginnings in Early 2025

On February 23, 2025, the museum will introduce "Beyond the Visible – Jochen Hein & Miguel Rothschild", featuring remarkable works from its Artist-in-Residence program. This exhibition highlights the distinct yet complementary approaches of painter Jochen Hein and installation artist Miguel Rothschild, both of whom share a deep passion for exploring the nuances of nature through their unique mediums. Their monumental pieces capture ever-changing atmospheric moods, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the natural world.

Summer Surprises: Two Exciting Exhibitions

Summer 2025 promises to be particularly vibrant at Museum Kunst der Westküste with the launch of two significant exhibitions:

June 15, 2025 – April 12, 2026: "Astrid Kruse Jensen – What Might Have Been"

Danish photographer Astrid Kruse Jensen presents a compelling exploration of memory and its mutable nature. Through her evocative photographs, Jensen challenges the conventional documentary style, offering a subjective lens that highlights the fluidity and transformation of personal recollections.

July 6, 2025 – January 11, 2026: "Midsummer! Mood Landscapes of the North 1880–1920"

Celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Scandinavia and Finland, this exhibition showcases stunning works from renowned artists such as Anna Ancher, Peder Severin Krøyer, Bruno Liljefors, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Helene Schjerfbeck, and Christian Skredsvig. These artists capture the enchanting light and festive spirit of Midsummer, reflecting the unique landscapes and emotional landscapes of the Nordic region.

Ongoing Engagement and Community Connection

In addition to its exhibitions, Museum Kunst der Westküste remains committed to fostering community engagement through a variety of activities and events. The museum invites media representatives and art lovers alike to explore its offerings and share their experiences.
