NEW YORK.- Yvon Lambert New York is pleased to announce A Tribute to Cézanne, a group show that celebrates the work and influence of French artist Paul Cézanne 100 years after his death. The exhibition has been curated by Éric Mézil, Director of the Collection Lambert in Avignon, and will include works on paper by Cézanne as well as works by Francis Alÿs, Spencer Finch, Nan Goldin, Idris Khan, Jonathan Monk, Damian Moppett, Melvin Martinez Vik Muniz, Thomas Struth, among others. A Tribute to Cézanne will also be presented, although in a different format, at the Collection Lambert in Avignon, France, in early 2007. The exhibition will be on view at Yvon Lambert New York from October 26 to November 30, 2006. Yvon Lambert New York is located at 564 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-6pm.

A Tribute to Cézanne examines the work of a generation of contemporary artists who challenge the established notion of art like Cézanne did in the late 19th Century. On the occasion of the exhibition, Yvon Lambert is also pleased to welcome Damian Moppett and Idris Khan as part of the artists it represents.

Yvon Lambert opened Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris in 1966, and this year the gallery celebrates its 40th Anniversary. The Collection Lambert in Avignon opened in 2000 and presents more than 350 works from Yvon Lambert’s personal collection. Yvon Lambert New York was subsequently founded in 2003.

In February 2007, Yvon Lambert New York will move to a larger and entirely renovated space in the heart of the Chelsea art district at 550 West 21st Street, between 11th Avenue and West Side Highway, in what was formerly the renowned Lot 61 bar. Gluckman Mayner Architects are designing the new gallery, in collaboration with Thomas Zolli.
