LONDON, ENGLAND.- Vision 21 is the innovative sale that delivers great design, diverse style and inspiration dating from 1945 to the present day. Conceived 4 years ago, Vision 21 encompasses Post War Paintings, Prints, Photographs, Sculpture and Modern Design. Bonhams in Knightsbridge has a long-held reputation for innovative ideas and, over the years, has introduced many new areas of collecting such as Contemporary Ceramics and Rock and Pop Memorabilia, which have challenged traditional categories. Vision 21 takes place on Wednesday 25 October 2006 at Bonhams in Knightsbridge.
This year, Vision 21 includes a section on alluring women.
GIRLS: Bonhams was approached by a lady rather keen to sell her husbands collection of Girls as she termed it, which once adorned his bachelor flat before they met. Her husband tried to move the collection to the Design offices where he worked but the images proved quite a distraction to his fellow designers. After much discussion with his wife and quite a bit of persuasion, he agreed to sell them at Bonhams and his wife eagerly arranged it. The collection of works primarily dating from the 1960s and 1970s by artists such as Allen Jones, Joe Tilson and Gerald Laing portraying beautiful and glamorous women
