PARIS, FRANCE.- Galerie Léo Scheer presents Édouard Levé : America, on view through December 2, 2006. "America" is about a 10,000-kilometre car journey édouard Levé made to seventeen American cities that have the same names as foreign cities. This strange journey reflects a desire to discover an America that is different from its fictionalized representations in the cinema and on television. The photos depict, in a methodical, almost topographical way, America's cities and their inhabitants, but they never invade their privacy. They confine themselves to the kind of public spaces that are accessible to any idle visitor. The exhibition was curated by Matthieu Charon. Catalogue published by Léo Scheer.
