New Cintas Fellows Collection Manager Announced

MIAMI.- The Cintas Foundation is proud to announce the hire of its new Cintas Fellows Collection Manager, Ingrid LaFleur Rogers. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Ms. Rogers earned a Bachelor of Art from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended New York University for her Masters with a Museum Studies focus from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She has a varied background having worked as independent curator developing and organizing contemporary art exhibitions, as European correspondent on contemporary art for online newsletters and websites, and host of the podcast, Promiscuous Eye, where she interviewed emerging international visual artists.

“We are looking forward to having Ingrid come on board as the Cintas Fellows Collection continues to grow and become an increasingly important part of the Frost Art Museum’s program,” said Elizabeth Cerejido, Curator of the Frost Art Museum. “Ms. LaFleur Rogers’ expertise in the areas of museum registration, collection management and curatorial will certainly be an invaluable asset to the working relationship that has been established between the Cintas Foundation and the Frost Art Museum.”

Speaking of the new hire, Board President of the Cintas Foundation, Hortensia Sampedro Hacker, asserted, “We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Rogers to her new role as Cintas Fellows Collection Manager. Equipped with a background in Museum studies, and a notable fervor for the arts, she will undoubtedly be a benefit to the continuation of the Cintas Foundation’s mission.”

The Cintas Fellows Collection is comprised of works of art in a variety of media by more than 300 artists of Cuban lineage who live and work outside of Cuba and who have been awarded a Cintas Fellowship. The Frost Art Museum at Florida International University currently houses the Fellows Collection. The Cintas Fellowship Selection Program is jointly administered by the Cintas Foundation and the Frost Art Museum. Ms. Rogers will be responsible for administering the Cintas Fellowship competitions and organizing the Cintas Fellows Collection.
