JERSEY CITY, NJ.- The Harold B. Lemmerman Gallery presents Time Samples by Alison Knowles, on view through December 15. Artist's reception: November 28, 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. The artist will hold a performance with students at 6 p.m. Time Samples features a large collection of found objects and paper sculptures that were made and then reoriented conceptually, first by the artist and then by collaborators. When Ms. Knowles had finished her work on each piece – assemblage, encasing in paper pulp, subtraction, or alteration – she invited friends and other artists to offer titles. Throughout a career that has spanned more than four decades, Ms. Knowles has been committed to performance and collaboration in all aspects of her work. She is one of the pioneering members of Fluxus, a long-living group of international performance/conceptual artists.
