DALLAS, TX.- For more than two decades, they presided over what Dan Aykroyd once dubbed “The Supreme Court of Rock ‘n’ Roll”— the Dallas Hard Rock Café on McKinney Avenue. Over the last 15 years, they cast their colorful glow over the dining room of the beloved Arts District gastropub The Meddlesome Moth. Now, with that acclaimed restaurant having closed its doors in May 2025, these three one-of-a-kind stained-glass tributes to rock legends Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis are being offered for sale through Heritage Auctions.

The windows were originally commissioned in 1986 by Hard Rock Café co-founder Isaac Tigrett and created by a team of skilled Texas artists. Styled after pre-Victorian stained glass, they were the first rock ‘n’ roll-themed windows ever installed in a Hard Rock location. For 21 years, they remained fixtures of the Dallas cultural landscape, until the Hard Rock Café was demolished in 2008. The windows were hastily removed with screwdrivers, sustaining chips and cracks, and were left in storage for several years.

Enter Dallas restaurateur Shannon Wynne, a longtime advocate for the city’s history and distinctive design. At first skeptical about their value, Wynne ultimately saw their potential and purchased the windows as they were. He enlisted Texas stained-glass expert David Kittrell to undertake their restoration. Over the course of a year, the team at Kittrell Riffkind Art Glass painstakingly brought the pieces back to life, one fragment at a time.

When The Meddlesome Moth opened in 2010, Wynne installed the windows as a dramatic focal point of the restaurant’s interior, where they remained ever since. With the Moth now closed, Wynne and his team are seeking a new home for the 13-foot windows — ideally a public space or a private collection where all three can stay together.

Wynne has partnered with Heritage Auctions to manage this private sale and help secure the next chapter for these iconic works. On his behalf, we're honored to present a singular opportunity — the chance to own “The Trinity of Rock.”
