BOCA RATON, FLA.- The Boca Raton Museum of Art is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Keffie Feldman as the Museum’s next Chief Curator, starting in the position November 17, 2025.

Dr. Feldman will join BRMA with nine years of museum experience from the Mead Art Museum in Amherst, MA, the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum in South Hadley, MA, and most recently as the Chief Curator at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT. There, she led a robust exhibition program of approximately fifteen unique shows each calendar year and oversaw the museum’s collection of over 12,000 objects.

Her conceived and curated exhibition Stitching the Revolution (2024) won her a New England Museum Association “Specific Excellence Award” in 2024; it was recognized by the Connecticut League of Museums with a 2024 Award of Merit; and it will go on to travel nationwide between 2026 and 2028.

With many years of diverse experience as a teacher, manager, and administrator, Dr. Feldman will work alongside BRMA Director & CEO, Dr. Ena Heller, to oversee all aspects of the curatorial team’s contributions to the Museum’s artistic and interpretive vision, emphasizing the Museum as a destination for modern and contemporary art in South Florida, and a place for meaningful engagement. High among priorities will be a complete reinstallation of the collection and strategic rethinking of the exhibition schedule in alignment with new interpretation initiatives and outreach efforts.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Boca Raton Museum of Art at this exciting moment in its institutional history. With a strong collection and engaged leadership, the Museum is well-positioned to be the cultural center of Boca Raton. I believe an appreciation for the diversity of human expression is critical for a just and equitable society, and museums create an important space to engage the community in dynamic and impactful encounters with art. Building on the record of past excellence, I am excited to lead the curatorial department in growing the collection and developing an exhibition program that engages and reflects both local and national audiences.” – Dr. Keffie Feldman

Director & CEO, Ena Heller, noted: ”Keffie distinguished herself among a very competitive pool of candidates by her comprehensive art historical knowledge, collaborative curatorial practice, and inclusive approach to education in museums. She is a passionate communicator with a warm presence who will be a wonderful ambassador for our institution throughout South Florida and nationally.”

Dr. Keffie Feldman holds a Ph.D. from Brown University (Joukowsky Institute of Archaeology and the Ancient World), and a B.A. in Art History and Archaeology from Tufts University. With over a decade of experience in the field, she has taught at the college level and has worked at several academic and regional art museums. Her audience-centered approach to curation aims to spark curiosity and create community through a contextual exploration of art and history. She has curated over twenty original exhibitions, among them the award-winning Stitching the Revolution: Quilts as Agents of Change (2024) and Modern Women: Georgia O’Keeffe and Kay Sage (2025).
