MONTREAL, CANADA.- The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts presents Streamlining in North America: Industrial Design from the Eric Brill Collection, inaugural lecture by David A. Hanks- Curator, Liliane and David M. Stewart Program for Modern Design, and curator of the exhibition Thursday, May 17 at 2 p.m., in English - Auditorium Maxwell Cummings, Pavillon Michal et Renata Hornstein.
This lecture surveys the aerodynamic designs selected for the exhibition by theme and explains the origins of streamlined design. The lecture will also describe Eric Brills viewpoint in collecting industrial design made in Canada and the United States between about 1930 and 1960. It includes a discussion of streamlined forms of transportation trains, airplanes and automobiles which influenced the design of industrial objects.
