The JPMorgan Chase Museum Career Paid Internship

JERSEY CITY, NJ.-Museum Career Internship, to be awarded to a deserving student enrolled in or graduated from a university in the state of New Jersey. The nine-month paid internship will provide the opportunity to gain practical training and job skills, make professional connections and address career goals, as the intern cycles through the Museum’s curatorial, education and development departments. JPMorgan Chase has committed $50,000 over two years to the internship program.

Marion Grzesiak, the Museum’s Executive Director, thanked JPMorgan Chase for their support, “JPMorgan Chase is committed to sustaining creative communities, and they have demonstrated that commitment to this organization for many years. We are very grateful to JPMorgan Chase for supporting the program in the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 academic years; their support is essential in helping us fulfill our commitment to developing future museum professionals. We look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Etta Rudolf Denk, Vice President, Community Development Group for JPMorgan Chase, commented, “Now more than ever, it is imperative that non-profit organizations take an active role in developing the next generation of professionals. While the museum has been offering internships for over 15 years, this is the first time they have had the resources to develop a rigorous, nine-month curriculum, and as importantly, to provide financial compensation for the work. We are proud to provide these resources. The JPMorgan Chase Museum Career Internship mirrors our core business principles and creates opportunities for young people to gain the practical skills that will start them on their professional careers.”

Applicants must possess a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in museum work, and be enrolled in a Master’s level art history, history, art education, or American studies program, a Master’s level museum studies or non-profit management program; or a Master of Fine Art program.

The internship will run from September 2007 through May 2008. Applicants may visit the Museum’s website, www.jerseycitymuseum.org, for more information.
