BERLIN.-[DAM] Berlin opens it's new designed space with an exhibition of the artist Eelco Brand from Holland. Eelco Brand, who beside being a painter, works since the end 1990s with the computer. He is presented for the first time in a solo-show in Germany. His early artworks were designed at the computer and then traditionally painted on canvas. The aesthetic possibilities for a realistic representation were not good enough to meet his standard. This has changed with 3-D Software in the recent years.

Accordingly he concentrated more on his short movies. They are fully constructed at the computer. They specially fascinating; themes like a walk through a forest onto a clearing or the movement on a swing, through a green meadow. Such experiences seem very familiar, still it needs the reflection through an artificial landscape, that these moments come up again in it's emotional depths. Exhibition: 25.5. - 30.6.2007.
