LANSING, MI.- CaSpect presents: Lansing Artery 1 sporadically occupying spaces in the name of art, culture and spectacle, August 25th-26th, 2007: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. September 1st-2nd, 2007: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Capital Area Spectacle ( is an eclectic collective composed of creative able-minded individuals hailing from the Lansing Capital Area and beyond. This loose organization of artists, technology professionals, designers, MSU/LCC students and alumni, have come together in cooperation with local business and property owners to revitalize the city and instantiate art, culture, and spectacle.

The Lansing Artery project ( is an exercise in creating alternative exhibition spaces. Lansing Artery 1 will be CaSpect’s first in a series of events aimed at challenging contemporary concepts of expression and the arts. For 4 days Lansing Artery 1 will be open to the public at Basement 414. This premier event will feature more than 30 visual artists working in sculpture, painting, ceramic, audio-visual, and mixed disciplines, as well as musical performances, poetry reading and improvisation. Set lists of performances will only be available immediately preceding events.
