MIAMI, FL.- Swarovski, the world's leading producer of precision-cut crystal, presents Swarovski Crystal Palace, an exhibition featuring Light Sock by the New York-based architecture firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro. The exhibit will be open from December 7 from 11 AM until 7 PM; December 8 from 11 AM until 11 PM; and December 9 from 11 AM to 7 PM, at The Moore Building, located in the epicenter of Miami's Design District.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro deconstruct the traditional chandelier with brilliant simplicity - a mesh sack filled solely with Swarovski crystals. The designers explain, “The Light Sock is not your grandmother’s chandelier. An open-mesh bag replaces the arms and pendants of the traditional chandelier with a single light source buried within the mass of crystals. Swarovski crystals can be bought by the pound like produce at the farmer’s market. Bags are one-size-fits-all and will expand to take the shape of their contents.” Light Sock is available in three different sizes – single, double and long. The exhibition features an artistic composition of nearly 50 Light Sock chandeliers. Visitors will be invited to walk amidst these illuminated works of art - to admire the fluid lines and sculptural qualities of the varying shapes floating at different elevations in pitch black darkness.

"Swarovski is delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with Diller Scofidio + Renfro on this unprecedented solo presentation of Crystal Palace for Miami," said Nadja Swarovski, vice president of Swarovski International Communications. "Light Sock combines a seamless blend of modern design with our vast crystal resources. The outcome of this union is a truly stunning piece, that embodies innovation, imagination, and artistry."
