MIAMI.- Breakfast Roundtable discussion takes "An Inside Look at Mid-Century Modern Design"
AXA Art, the world's only art insurance specialist, today unveiled its line-up of cultural activities, events and creative collaborations to enhance the experience of its clients, VIP guests and attendees to the 2008 Art Basel Miami Beach Fair.
As associate sponsor of Art Basel Miami Beach, AXA Art hosts collectors, art dealers, gallery owners, designers, curators, advisors, journalists and other guests at the AXA Art VIP Lounge in the Collectors' Lounge and uses its presence as a platform to profile topics in collecting and protecting art.
This year, continuing with the theme "The Thrill of Collecting," designer Tom Postma in collaboration with Doug de Nicola, Design Director at the Noguchi Museum, creates a visual presentation at the AXA Art VIP Lounge as tribute to Isamu Noguchi's prolific contribution to modern and contemporary designs. On exhibition will be sampling of Noguchi's beautifully constructed signature paper lamps, sculptures and furniture.
The AXA Art Power Bar will once again be on offer to guests at the company's lounge.

The 2008 AXA Artist Award
American artist and celebrated printmaker Terry Winters has selected artist Jack Warren to receive the AXA Artist Award recognition and $25,000 cash grant. Warren will receive the award on December 3rd during a small ceremony at The International Collectors Dinner, co-hosted by AXA Art US CEO Christiane Fischer and Martin Z. Margulies at The Margulies Warehouse in Miami.

Design Breakfast Roundtable - The Dynamo Cafe at The Wolfsonian
On Friday, December 5, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. AXA Art in collaboration with The Wolfsonian - Florida International University and The Noguchi Museum will co-host a breakfast and roundtable discussion entitled: An Inside Look at Mid-Century Modern Design. Associate Director of Curatorial Affairs and Education at The Wolfsonian Marianne Lamonaca, will lead a panel discussion on mid-century designers and the impact of re-editions of vintage designs by designers Noguchi and Charles and Ray Eames among others. Panelists include: Eames Demetrios, Director at The Eames Office, Doug de Nicola, Design Director of The Noguchi Museum; Evan Snyderman, co-Owner, R20th Century Design, New York and James Zemaitis, Senior Vice President, 20th Century Design at Sotheby's.
