LOS ANGELES, CA.- Blacklots, the first members-only, daily curated art auction platform for the resale and acquisition of contemporary art, launched its much anticipated website to the public today at Blacklots.com. Boasting an A-list Advisory Board including Adam Lindemann, Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, and Richard Pandiscio the art world is already strongly behind this modern supplement to traditional galleries and auction houses. The response and sales have been strong since its soft launch late this spring including a record sales result for an Elad Lassry.

Blacklots was created in response to the growing demand for a more efficient way to facilitate the exchange of contemporary art. Utilizing the popular flash sale model in a manner relevant to the art-market, the 24-hour auction format enables transactions to occur in an expedited manner, at lower rates and with a far broader audience than traditional auction houses and dealers. "Blacklots solves a problem for contemporary art resellers: that they cannot sell their art in a timely manner. Now, Blacklots is truly the most efficient way to buy or sell art. A transaction can often be executed in less than an hour from anywhere in the world." says co-founder and CEO, Minor Childers.

A sampling of the art exchanged daily on Blacklots has included works by Elad Lassry, Jo Bradley, Chris Ofili, Terence Koh, KAWS, Barry McGee, Hernan Bas, Matthew Day Jackson, Vik Muniz, Gregory Crewdson, Takashi Murakami and Josh Smith among others. In the coming weeks works will be offered by Walead Beshty, Ryan McGinley, Maurizio Cattelan, Marilyn Minter, Alex Prager, Frank Stella and Claes Oldeburg to name just a few.

Cofounded by Rodman Primack, formerly Chairman of Phillips De Pury & Company, London and a Gagosian Gallery Director, Minor Childers, entrepreneur in the Entertainment and Internet industries, and CJ Little serial technology entrepreneur, the site combines the best of all three industries. Together, the founders have created a technologically savvy, trusted site that attracts everyone from art insiders and enthusiasts to decorators and those just starting to collect.

"The design of the platform is far more elegant and gallery-like than any other sites out there. We are creating an experience with Blacklots and purchasing art on the Internet that currently does not exist," says Blacklots Chairman, Rodman Primack. "This site’s user-friendly platform offers everyone from the seasoned collector to someone looking to purchase their very first piece an ideal auction experience. Later this summer, expect to see multiple lots a day. You will find many of the same artists, as well as some material at higher price points. Whether you are an experienced collector, or just starting out, Blacklots is a great resource where you will always find a highly edited selection of quality works."

Blacklots will be announcing a number of partners in the coming months, and is thrilled be working with Alife, Uhuru and their Private Property art installment throughout the Blacklots launch. In May, the New York Art Department unveiled a collaboration between the design-build furniture company Uhuru and downtown New York lifestyle brand Alife. The purpose was to bring together the high-end concept of furniture design and mix it with the urban feeling of downtown graffiti of New York culture. Throughout the summer, several of the Private Property one-of-a-kind pieces will be available exclusively at Blacklots.com.
