SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- For the duration of the residency at
HIGHLIGHT, Jesse Schlesinger will engage with the gallery setting using a specific collection of materials: wood timbers, plaster, and paper. Improvising with the specific media and hand tools, Schlesinger will explore the parameters of the space and the relationships between the materials. The gallery as working site will engage themes of scale, time, material qualities and industry, and provoke considerations of spatial relationships between primary building materials and the potential of a fixed architectural context. Work will include drawings, sculptures, models, and a large scale installation.
