HONG KONG.- The Fine Jewels and Jadeite Inaugural Sale has successfully completed, led by a Pear-shaped Fancy Intense Blue Diamond and Fancy Intense Pink Diamond Toi et Moi Ring, which inspirited considerable competition this afternoon. Pursued by determined bidders starting at HK$ 11million, the ring is finally acquired by a phone bidder after 10 attempts at HK$ 16million. With buyers premium, the final price is HK$ 18.56 million/ US$ 2.39million (Est: HK$ 17.2 19.5million/ US$ 2.2 - 2.5 million). The splendid ring is set with the pear-shaped fancy intense blue and fancy intense pink diamonds weighing 2.07 and 2.33 carats respectively. The 2.07 carat diamond is of fancy intense blue, natural color, with internally flawless clarity; whereas the 2.33 carat diamond is of fancy intense pink, natural color, with VVS1 clarity. Surrounded by a cluster of white diamonds, the pear-shaped diamonds represent two halves of a heart symbolising the unity of You and Me (Toi et Moi); and the infinity design of the oval-shaped diamonds expresses eternal and everlasting love, rendering this ring a true treasure to be cherished forever.
In addition, a Jadeite and Diamond Ring also inspirited an intense 10-minute competition among keen bidders. Beginning at HK$ 420,000, the lot attracted two eager telephone bidders at HK$ 550,000, whom were subsequently joined by another live bidder at HK$ 680,000, filling the room with a fiercely pulsating atmosphere. After 15 bids to HK$ 800,000, the lot was finally purchased by a telephone bidder for HK$ 960,000 / US$ 120,000. The jadeite saddle top of the lot is of high translucency and vivid emerald green color, set to the pave-set diamond borders and shoulders and mounted in white gold - a highly attractive item to acquire.
