HONG KONG.- The Fine Jewels and Jadeite Inaugural Sale has successfully completed, led by a Pear-shaped Fancy Intense Blue Diamond and Fancy Intense Pink Diamond “Toi et Moi” Ring, which inspirited considerable competition this afternoon. Pursued by determined bidders starting at HK$ 11million, the ring is finally acquired by a phone bidder after 10 attempts at HK$ 16million. With buyer’s premium, the final price is HK$ 18.56 million/ US$ 2.39million (Est: HK$ 17.2 – 19.5million/ US$ 2.2 - 2.5 million). The splendid ring is set with the pear-shaped fancy intense blue and fancy intense pink diamonds weighing 2.07 and 2.33 carats respectively. The 2.07 carat diamond is of fancy intense blue, natural color, with internally flawless clarity; whereas the 2.33 carat diamond is of fancy intense pink, natural color, with VVS1 clarity. Surrounded by a cluster of white diamonds, the pear-shaped diamonds represent two halves of a heart symbolising the unity of “You and Me” (“Toi et Moi”); and the “infinity” design of the oval-shaped diamonds expresses eternal and everlasting love, rendering this ring a true treasure to be cherished forever.

In addition, a Jadeite and Diamond Ring also inspirited an intense 10-minute competition among keen bidders. Beginning at HK$ 420,000, the lot attracted two eager telephone bidders at HK$ 550,000, whom were subsequently joined by another live bidder at HK$ 680,000, filling the room with a fiercely pulsating atmosphere. After 15 bids to HK$ 800,000, the lot was finally purchased by a telephone bidder for HK$ 960,000 / US$ 120,000. The jadeite saddle top of the lot is of high translucency and vivid emerald green color, set to the pave-set diamond borders and shoulders and mounted in white gold - a highly attractive item to acquire.

Benjamin Chen, President of Ravenel’s Jewelry Department, commented, “Our inaugural sale has attracted eager collectors from all over Asia, demonstrating that fine jewels and jadeite are still very much sought-after on the market.”
