NEW YORK, NY.- Tate Americas Foundation (most recently known as American Patrons of Tate), an independent charity based in New York to raise support for Tate, will host the third Artists Dinner fundraising gala in New York on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Skylight at Moynihan Station. The Artists Dinner, which is sponsored by Dior, will honor over thirty artists from the Americas who are represented in the Tate’s permanent collection. Honorary chairs of the evening are Glenda Bailey and Sarah Jessica Parker. The evening is being chaired under the dynamic leadership of five co-chairs who are each major forces for the arts and culture in communities across the country: Estrellita Brodsky (New York), Kira Flanzraich (Miami), Pamela Joyner (San Francisco), Amy Phelan (Aspen / New York), and Christen Wilson (Dallas).

Richard Hamilton, Director, Tate Americas Foundation, says, “The Artists Dinner has been entirely underwritten thanks to the generosity of Dior and our co-chairs. This will enable the Tate Americas Foundation to make further important acquisitions of art from the Americas to benefit Tate.”

The evening will celebrate artists from North and South America, including Marina Abramovic, Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla, Alexander Apostol, Alexandre Arrechea, Tania Bruguera, Nathan Carter, James Casebere, Marco Castillo and Dagoberto Rodriguez of Los Carpinteros, Vija Celmins, Bruce Davidson, Sam Gilliam, Wade Guyton, Barkley Hendricks, Jenny Holzer, Roni Horn, Emilia and Ilya Kabakov, Alex Katz, Jeff Koons, Guillermo Kuitca, Suzanne Lacy, Glenn Ligon, Sharon Lockhart, Paul McCarthy, Julie Mehretu, Vik Muniz, Bruce Nauman and Susan Rothenberg, Ernesto Neto, Damien Ortega, Tony Oursler, Elizabeth Peyton, Richard Phillips, RH Quaytman, Taryn Simon, Lorna Simpson, Frances Stark, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Charline von Heyl, and Lawrence Weiner.
