NEW YORK, NY.- Standing still is a step backward. In honor of its 30th anniversary in New York, Moeller Fine Art announces the launch of Moeller Art Advisory, which provides independent advice to present and future clients in their art collecting. At the same time, Moeller Fine Art Berlin will merge with Moeller Fine Art New York, and the Berlin premises are closed as of the end of June.

Moeller Fine Art Berlin, under the direction of Stephanie Moeller for the last five years, has gained a reputation for mounting museum-quality exhibitions of modern masterworks alongside the work of international contemporary artists. This past winter, Stephanie Moeller prepared two well-received parallel shows: "Mark Tobey: Between East and West" and "Jeongmoon Choi: PULS," which emphasized the visual sympathies between two artists working in different periods, media and countries. Further exhibition highlights included "R. B. Kitaj" (2012), coinciding with the artist’s retrospective at the Jewish Museum Berlin, as well as "Howard Wise Gallery: Exploring the New" (2012), "Burke + Norfolk: Photographs from the War in Afghanistan" (2011), which traveled from the Tate Modern in London, "Lyonel Feininger: Drawings and Watercolors from the Julia Feininger Estate" (2010), "George Grosz, Esq." (2010) with works from the Estate of the artist, and “Paul Goesch: Fantastical Rêverie,” which included loans from the Berlinische Galerie (2010). The gallery’s final exhibition, which closed on 28 June 2014, was “Sovak: Themes & Variations,” with a catalogue essay by Ulrike Lorenz, director of the Kunsthalle Mannheim. Stephanie Moeller will continue to represent Pravoslav Sovak exclusively and work closely with Moeller Fine Art as an independent art advisor and curator.

In New York, Moeller Fine Art continues with a full exhibition schedule in its newly designed ground floor premises at 35 East 64th Street and at art fairs worldwide. Moeller Fine Art will also continue its exclusive representation of the Lyonel Feininger Family Trusts. Moeller Art Advisory offers impartial advice to a select number of clients seeking to build their collections. While the two entities will exist separately, Moeller Art Advisory will capitalize on decades of experience in the international art market and will focus on clients in the US and around the world, including the 33-year collaboration building the collection of the Hon. John C. Whitehead, from its headquarters in New York.

The Lyonel Feininger Project LLC will continue in Berlin and New York, preparing the three-volume Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings, maintaining the archives of watercolors, drawings, and prints and providing exhibition consultation. The Mark Tobey Project LLC will continue in New York, providing authentication, scholarship, and exhibition consultation.
