HONG KONG.- Sotheby’s Hong Kong announces the sale of Finest & Rarest Wines on Sunday 4 October, following the two single-owner sales – The Classic Cellar from a Prestigious Collection and The Contemporary Cellar from Impeccable Storage at Octavian the day prior. This various-owner sale consists of 375 lots and is estimated at HK$16 – 22 million / US$2 – 2.8 million*.

Highlights of the sale include a first-of-its-kind vertical offering of 21 vintages of Harlan Estate, from the estate’s library reserve, in individual wood boxes, signed by Bill Harlan, the creator of one of California’s greatest wines. Two complete horizontals of all of BOND’s vineyards in magnum from the 2007 and 2010 vintage will also be featured with all bottles signed by winemaker Cory Empting. Both lots come with exclusive invitations to visit the wineries: the Harlan Estate lot includes a VIP tour and tasting for up to eight persons in Oakville, Napa Valley; while the BOND lot includes an exclusive VIP tour for up to six people.

Sotheby’s is also pleased to offer an outstanding selection of Bordeaux and Burgundy from three world renowned wine collectors based in Asia – Dr. Peter Lam Kin-ngok, Mr. Henry Tang and Mr. Vincent Cheung to benefit First Initiative Foundation. This offering includes top class California wines curated by Ms. Jeannie Cho Lee M.W. and donated directly from Screaming Eagle and Heitz Wine Cellars, plus a unique visit to some of Napa Valley’s finest wineries. The proceeds will benefit First Initiative Foundation (FIF), founded and chaired by Michelle Ong, to support its works in promoting education and creativity in the areas of art, design and music, as well as enhancing Hong Kong’s reputation in the world. Other sale highlights include a superb selection of Bordeaux and Burgundy, featuring a case of Pétrus 1989, a case of six magnums of Château Mouton-Rothschild 1982, and 25 lots from Domaine Romanée-Conti.

Adam Bilbey, Head of Sotheby’s Wine Asia, said, “The range of Bordeaux and Burgundy’s greatest wines on offer makes this a compelling sale for Asia’s wine connoisseurs. We are especially delighted to offer unique lots that have come directly from Harlan Estate and BOND and to have the opportunity to benefit First Initiative Foundation with wines donated by some of Hong Kong’s greatest wine collectors.”
